Hurricane Katrina

Sunday, August 28th, 2005

Well I don’t know what the future holds. Katrina, a category 5 Hurricane, with 165 mile per hour winds is going to hit the New Orleans area head on. Best case scenario, we’ll suffer heavy damage. Worst case scenario, we’ll lose everything. Our house. Our church. Work. And even if they survive the same people that we associate with everyday. I am safe in a hotel in Baton Rouge. I am paying $10 / 24 hours of internet service. So I doubt I will pay for a second 24 hours period at that price. I may not post here for a while. But I am ok. And I wish everyone the best. Good luck.

I know Charie & Chrissie Billiot’s sister and have met them a few times. Charie died in the wreck while Chrissie survived. They are members of our Youth Group Holy Fear at Our Lady of Lourdes. Charie will be missed and and hopefully Chrissie will make a full recovery. Continue to keep all the families in your prayers.

In your prayers

Sunday, August 21st, 2005

Nothing political this time. Just a few things to pray for.

The grandmother of one of our priests is sick and is not doing well.

One of my friends sisters were involved in a car accident and one was killed. Not 100% sure, but this is probably referring to them: http://www.wwltv.com/local/stories/WWL082005teens.988201cf.html . (You need to register to view it. Remind me to do a rant on that one of these days.) There were five in the car. Two dead, one was my friends sister. Her other sister is critical.

edit: Just read that a third person has died. Not sure if it was my friends other sister.
edit: Now a forth.

Please keep all of these people and their families and friends in your prayers.

Busy Lately

Monday, August 8th, 2005

I haven’t been posting here much. I am probably spending too much time with Atlas Fantasy Politics http://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php . I am running for SE Lt. Governor in two weeks. There is also real life discussion on here as well. Lot of fun but addicting.

Congress (the real life U.S. Congress) is on recess for about a month. When they come back, the Senate will begin the confirmation hearing for John Roberts. My support for Roberts has fallen lately. Most recently is talk that he did a pro-bono (free) case for gay rights case that went to the Supreme Court. Roberts involvement was minimal, but it is still enough to get people talking.

2004 Constitution Party Candidate Michael Peroutka has opened his new site The American View http://www.theamericanview.com/ . The American View is the name of his radio show, whose archives can be listed to on his website through the use of PodCasting or compatible service. There is also much discussion about Roberts nomination to the Supreme Court.
